About this Website - This website was conceived and designed by its author to foster awarness of Flag Day in general and the local Kiwanis-Sunnyside Flag Day Parade in particular which has become a long standing tradition in the Sunnyside Queens community of New York City. While this website features the local Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside sponsored Flag Day parade, this website is not an official website of the Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside, nor of Kiwanis International. To contact the sponsors of this parade, the parade chairman, or the author/designer-developer of this website use the contact page and make the appropriate selection (webmaster or parade charaiman) when subnmitting an email, or use the link to the official Kiwanis-Sunnyside website for contacting kiwanis-Sunnyside directly.
Browser Requirements - This website has been tested with the most current and popular browsers on both the PC and Mac platforms and conforms to current W3C standards (the W3C is an international standards organization and consortium involved in all aspects of the Internet and the information technology industry).

iPad Compatibility and other Tablet Devices - As of April 28th, 2011, this website is completely iPad compatible: Visitors using Apple's iPad I, iPad II, or iPad III ("The New iPAD") will be able to view all content and video using the Safari browser that comes as part of the Apple iPad.
This website is also viewable on other tablet devices such as the Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy, as well as other Android based devices.
A future version of this site will be optimized for mobile phone devices such as the iPhone, and similarly sized devices.

Technical Stuff
Connection Requirements - A broadband connection such as Cable, DSL, or other high-speed type connection is required. At minimum your connection should have a bandwidth of at least 768 Kbits/second; most DSL and all cable Internet connections will support such requirements. Please note that while dial-up connections may work to display the website, a dial-up connection will not properly display video from this website. Contact your telecommunications service provider if you have questions about your Internet connection speed.
Computer / Monitor Resolution - Computer processor speeds of at leat 1.5 Ghz should provide minimally satisfactory performance - faster processor speeds will result is significant performance improvement. This website is viewable on Windows PCs, Macs, and Linux with a screen resolution of 1024 (width) x 768 (height) or better. Smaller screen resolutions can be used, but significant scrolling will be required.
Video Playback Issues - Internet Video is very sensitive to a number of factors: Your computer's graphic card, processor speed and memory, hard drive speed, and Internert connection speed all affect video response and quality. If you experience jerky or intermittent video it may be caused by a slow video card, slow processor, slow connection or a combination of these. It's always best that your computer's graphics card has the latest drivers: check your graphics card manufacturer's website for the latest drivers for your particular video card. If you experience jerky video in general on a consistent basis you should consider upgrading one or more components of your system and/or ensuring your broadband Internet connection is functioning properly and provides the stated bandwidth.
When viewing video, especially on a slow computer, close down all unnecessary applications, particularly those applications that use your Internet connection such as email, Chat, IM (Instant Messagaing), etc. Close down open but unused browser windows as each browser window consumes memeory and bandwidth of your available connection.
Network traffic and time of day can have a noticeable effect on your Internet connection speed and can vary significantly through out the day. Generally traffic is highest during normal business hours. If you experience time of day performance issues with video try viewing during off peak hours (before 9 am or after 8 pm).
If a video *download is provided you may want to use it if you have significant video playback issues when viewing video directly from the website. Downloaded video files are generally of much higher quality. The advantage of the downloaded video is that generally there are no Internet connection issues with playback. If after downloading a video file you continue to experience jerkiness and/or stuttering that's usually an indication that one or more components within your computer is causing a slowdown (bottleneck condition); usually the graphics card, computer's processor speed, hard disk speed, and computer memory are the key items to be concerned with: consider upgrading one or more of these components or seek the advice of a professional. When downloading video please be patient and be sure your hard disk has sufficient space to save the video file.
